170 Postgraduate students registered at SEML.
17 February 2016 : A total of 170 new students registered as postgraduate students at the School of Education and Modern Languages (SEML), College of Art and Sciences (CAS), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) for the February semester, 2015/2016 (A152) academic session this morning.
For the record, the new student intake at SEML was the highest among other schools in CAS. Earlier this week, the new academic session of 2015/2016 saw 313 new students registered for various programs at CAS.
At SEML, the new students enrolled for various Master programmes such as Master of Science (Educational Management), Master of Education (Curriculum & Instruction), Master in Applied Linguistics, and Master of Arts (Contemporary Malay Language Studies). Some of them enrolled for the Doctoral Degree programs such as PhD in Education (English Language Teaching).
The registration process proceeded smoothly with the kind assistance of many non-academic staff. Later in the day, an academic briefing and a welcoming session were held at DKG 4/1. The event was also attended by the program coordinators of SEML and some academic staff. In his speech, SEML program coordinator welcomed all the new students and congratulated them for choosing SEML to pursue their studies at the postgraduate level. He hoped that the students would contribute their time and talent by being involved in academic activities, community service and many other important events in the school and the university.
